Austrailian Radiological Industries (ARI) is a branch of the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Office (ANSTO). Even though ARI is a government organization, it is in fact, a business which manufactures and sells radioisotopes for medical use in Australia and Southeast Asia. A new managing director had been recruited for ARI with the mission to improve operations and make it more “business-like.”
Logo and Poster Program
The managing director knew that a major cultural shift was required and that Laurie Alire had directed a communications program in support of such a shift at Varian Associates, Inc. in the US. Alire & Associates was asked to advise management as they discussed the set of values, strategies, and organizational imperatives they wished to instill in the organization and then develop a plan to communicate these effectively to their relatively small employee base.
Alire & Associates contributed with the following:
- Assisted management in announcing the new initiative with a personalized letter and the presentation to launch it at an employee meeting.
- Designed “atom man,” a logo to symbolize the company and its new culture and identity.
- Designed a series of posters to help employees understand and act on the program, OE.
- Write a brochure to describe the program to new employees, customers, and government leaders.
